Introduction

Kasaba bengre is a tiny island between Arabian Sea and Gurupura river. Though it remains closer to Manglore city within a nautical distance of 2 miles or so, lying away from the city and other incidental geographical factors the population here are in poverty and predominantly depend on fishing and other manual chores. Poverty and lack of sound development and progress.
JIH ( Jamaat-e-Islami Hind) with its grassroots cadre and their continual endeavors have been able to develop a few institutions over the years. As a pioneering effort a Trust under the name Islamic Welfare Center was established a few years ago, under which a Higher primary school , a Madrasa and a Juma masjid are being managed successfully, Al-hamdulillah. Apart from which religious, cultural and social activities are carried on to empower the masses socially and economically
Any Society in order to grow and prosper needs good educational infrastructure and institutions of learning. The risk of sending one's children across the river and getting admissions in City schools is sometimes a tiring effort, if not possible! And one has to cope with Madrasa timing also. Thus finding a need for the blend of both religious and secular education under one roof, ARK Primary School  was established. There are five full time teachers and two Ayas attending to students. Students hail from rich as well as poor classes. All the efforts are made to provide the students holistic education which shall make them more competent, responsible and balanced individuals, Insha Allah.
